Build the next generation of intelligent route optimization capabilities that help fleets make faster, better decisions at scale. You’ll combine backend engineering, algorithms, cloud technologies, and AI/ML to solve complex routing challenges involving time windows, vehicle capacity, traffic conditions, and service requirements.

Salary Range: $100,000 to $140,000 UY “Compensation information provided is a good faith estimate for this position only. Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills as well as the years of experience you have. Similar positions located in different geographic regions will not necessarily receive the same compensation.
Location: This is a hybrid position and will require the employee to come to our office in Montevideo 2 days per week. We are a global organization using English as a primary language, job descriptions and communication available in the local languages where required.

Mission

Outcomes
- Build high-performance route optimization and planning capabilities that solve complex logistics problems reliably at scale
- Develop and evolve Java-based microservices on AWS, improving the performance, reliability, and scalability of core routing services
- Advance routing intelligence with AI/ML, using real operational outcomes to improve optimization and decision-making
- Improve system architecture and performance by identifying bottlenecks, evaluating trade-offs, and implementing scalable solutions
- Own meaningful components of the routing platform, from technical design and experimentation through deployment and continuous improvement
- Collaborate with engineering, product, and data science to turn complex logistics challenges into practical, measurable solutions
- Strong experience with Java and modern backend development
- Experience with distributed systems and microservice architectures
- Strong understanding of algorithms, optimization, and complex problem-solving
- Ability to assess performance, scalability, reliability, and architectural trade-offs
- Experience with data-driven systems or AI/ML integration is a strong asset
- Experience with AWS, including AWS Secrets Manager, is an asset
- Comfortable experimenting with modern AI technologies and AI-assisted development tools
- Thrives in a fast-moving, collaborative environment with a high degree of ownership and autonomy
